The Simon van Gend Band are an introspective indie/folk/rock band from Cape Town, South Africa, whose music has been described as a home-grown unique blend of folksie foot-tapping red wine fireside poetry. Simon van Gend plays acoustic guitar, sings and writes the songs, Eric Michot plays bass and Ross Campbell plays drums. The band has recorded 5 albums of original songs. In September 2015, the band released a new album, ‘Suffer Well’, made up of the best of the songs from the ‘Song a week’ project. Simon has recently completed his 2nd year-long ‘song a week’ project, and is working on a 6th album made up of the best of these songs.

Suffer is the third album by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released on the Californian independent record label Epitaph Records on September 8, 1988. It was the first album that was both released and distributed by the label. Following the release of the EP Back to the Known (1985), Bad Religion went on a temporary hiatus, then reunited with its original members (except drummer Jay Ziskrout) and went to work on its first full-length studio album in five years.
