The Hues Corporation’s big break came in 1972 when they were invited to record three songs for the soundtrack of the blaxploitation film Blacula: There He Is Again, What the World Knows, and I’m Gonna Catch You. They released their first single on that label, Freedom for the Stallion, written by renowned artist Allen Toussaint. The single was also the title track of the band’s first LP, released in 1973.
