I do believe in miracles. Just yesterday I heard from a friend the following story: On a walk in a particularly hilly and fairly remote part of the UK my friend saw a cyclist whizz passed, and whulst he was still watching, saw the bike hit something. The cyclist was flung over the handlebars. He landed on his head. Concerned, my friend went to him and as he approached he noticed the cyclist was having fits on the ground. The cyclist being unresponsive and still fitting my friend, unsure exactly what to do, decided to make him as comfortable as possible, thinking that death might be near.
b. 1946, Philadelphia, USA. Singer Hunt arrived in the UK during the mid-60s and emerged as a solo act following a spell in the chorus of the London production of Hair. A series of powerful live performances ensued, including the 1969 Isle Of Wight Festival, on which she was backed by Scottish group (White) Trash. Her debut single was a rousing version of ‘Walk On Gilded Splinters’, originally recorded by Dr. John, but despite critical acclaim, the singer’s fiery brand of rock had only limited appeal. Follow-up releases included Paul Simon’s ‘Keep The Customer Satisfied’ and Marc Bolan’s ‘Hot.
