West Coast Diaries, Vol. 2. Charlie Peacock. Nobody's Gonna Bring Me Down.
Two strong ones here are "Tears Rolling Down," influenced by South Africa's Juluka, and "My Mind Played a Trick on Me," a passionate guitar-and-vocal plea for forgiveness. Also of note is the extended live version of "Whole Lot Different, Whole Lot the Same" (originally released on 1984's Lie Down in the Grass), a lush, beautiful ending to this recording. While not so polished as Peacock's other recordings (he himself is fond of describing his dissatisfaction with it), this one has an innocence about it that captures a spark of creative energy that.

The album's original tracks, were recorded at Peacock's Nashville home. The album also featured guitarist Marc Ribot, drummer Derrek Phillips, electronica player Tony Miracle, percussionist Ken Lewis, onist Chad Howat, and tuba player Joe Murphy. Recorded by The Charlie Peacock Group in 1981 (a 12" single of two songs was released in California and Japan in 1981). Kingdom Come (1999, re:think/EMI CMG). Full Circle (2004, Sparrow Records).
