Snuffy Walden has also been expanded from its original 47 Minute album released in 1994 to over 80 Minutes with the music personally selected by Walden himself from the massive score that he had written for the epic mini-series
William Garrett Walden, known as W. G. Snuffy Walden (born February 13, 1950), is an American musician and composer of film and television soundtracks. Walden is an Emmy Award winner for the theme music to The West Wing (NBC), has been nominated for numerous Emmys throughout his career, and has received 26 BMI Awards. Walden was born in Louisiana on February 13, 1950, and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1967

The 1994 post-apocalyptic mini-series THE STAND, earned prolific composer W. Snuffy Walden an EMMY� nomination that year. The album is considered the crowning achievement from one of the band's most prolific lineups (Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, and Johannes Schmoelling). The 1997 three-part mini-series THE SHINING is being presented on a 3-CD set, one disc for each night of the special event series. The Nicholas Pike-penned score is being released commercially for the first time. Housing the collection is a 24-page bound booklet, featuring liner notes by Randall D. Larson with original art by Shawn Conn.

Snuffy Walden wrote the score. I remember this miniseries as it was one of the first I Stephen King adaptations I saw and it came during my most prolific SK binging period. As Project blue opens this deluxe release of the score, the blues like guitar instantly reminds me of the start of the miniseries, that strange, Western like setting. I actually remember the blues motifs from when I watched the mini series as they gave a sense of normality to the story and to the world. Somehow I associate this midwestern sound with Stephen King stories. This score is like a beautiful and calming dream and I did not expect tho feel this way. I did not expect to find such stunning piano motifs worthy of bigger stages.

Massive dedication box to the famous writer released at the time of legendary author's birthday last fall which is dedicated to four soundtracks, three which were previously released by Varese Sarabande (Dreamcatcher, Firestarter and The Stand) and the fourth making it's long awaited debut from the ABC mini-series from 1997, The Shining. The possible fifth album, Dolores Claiborne by Danny Elfman, which has been subject of Varese Club speculation is not included despite the book being written by King as well. Dreamcatcher by James Newton Howard is largely expanded from its original 40 Minute release from 2003 to over 90 Minutes. The Stand by W.G. Snuffy Walden has also been expanded from its original 47 Minute album released in 1994 to over 80 Minutes with the music personally selected by Walden himself from the massive score that he had written for the epic mini-series. Firestarter by Tangerine Dream is a straight reissue (no additional music) of both the original 1984 MCA Soundtrack album and Varese's 1990 CD premiere of the 1984 album to CD format which eventually went out of print in the early 2000's and instantly became a collector's item. The Shining from the 1997 ABC Mini-series starring Steven Weber and Rebecca DeMornay is the box's major highlight with the first official release of Nicholas Pike's music to the public. A 47 Minute promotional disc featuring highlights from the massive score was all that was available as a composer promo for over 20 years. Pike's selections from the score take up to three discs which run close to two and a half hours of music featured in the series. The box is a limited edition coming in a digipak box that looks like one of King's books with nice artwork and features liner notes by the esteemed Randall Larson for each score featured.
