Gidon Kremer recorded Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major op. 61 twice after he moved to the West, with the first being this date with the Academy of S. conducted by Neville Marriner. It was originally recorded for Philips in 1980, but eventually released at budget price by Deutsche Grammophon as you see here, along with Kremer's recording of the Violin Romance No. 1 with another orchestra and conductor. Anyway, while not entirely convincing, it is interesting. She wasn't the first to go back to Beethoven's cadenzas, though.
