Pizzo - Pizzo album flac

Pizza is the third album by French rocker Alain Bashung, issued in 1981 on Philips Records. This album immediately followed Bashung's breakthrough single, Gaby oh Gaby (which was added on the CD reissues of the album). Lyricist Boris Bergman wrote part of the lyrics, the other part was made of improvisations by Bashung. The album features a somewhat surreal mood, with abstract lyrics, full of double entendres, plays on words, puns and automatic writing.

Addiopizzo (English: "Goodbye Pizzo") is a grassroots movement established in Sicily to build a community of businesses and consumers who refuse to pay "pizzo" – Mafia extortion money. It is a grassroots social-conscience motivated consumer movement analogous to Fair Trade. The group, led by a generation whose adolescence was characterized by the murders of anti-Mafia judges, journalists and businessmen, operates in the Palermo and Catania metropolitan areas, traditionally Mafia strongholds.

Pizzo struggles to make his eponymous album interesting as he navigates himself through the oft-theatrical gangsta lifestyle. Like his countless underground peers circa 2000 trying to establish themselves in the post-No Limit era, Pizzo seems sincere in his aims but, unfortunately, fails to evoke much excitement.
