Gong - Camembert Electrique album flac

Camembert Electrique is a testament to that. The band's eclectic "electric cheese" rock is a mixture of psychedelic rock, spacy atmospherics and lyrics, and doses of jazz often presented with a pop sensibility, yet always intense. From the first cut on Camembert, you are transported to planet Gong via the voice of a "radio gnome" who drops in intermittently to remind you you're not in Kansas anymore.

Gong's 1970 debut album, Magick Brother featured a psychedelic pop sound. By the following year, the second album, Camembert Electrique, featured the more psychedelic rock/space rock sound with which they would be most associated. Between 1973 and 1974, Gong released their best known work, the allegorical Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy, describing the adventures of Zero the Hero, the Good.

Camembert Electrique is often overlooked thanks to the Pot Head Pixie/Radio Gnome Invisible album trilogy, but as a record in Gong's career, it feels like it is just as important when regarding the band's legacy. Still far from perfect of course, but Gong's second release (or creatively speaking, the first) really hit home about which direction the band were heading in, because the amount of creativity and quirkiness on this album was undoubtedly in spades.
