Salt Lick/God's Balls is a CD, cassette-only compilation by the American grunge band TAD. It consists of: the EP Salt Lick; the A-side of the SP55 7‘’ ("Loser" b/w "Cooking with Gas"); 7 selected tracks (out of 10) from the album God's Balls. Both records had previously been released in the United States only on vinyl. It is currently out of print. Salt Lick EP. "Axe to Grind" – 2:10. High on the Hog" – 2:28. Wood Goblins" – 3:13. Glue Machine" – 3:43.

Easily the heaviest band to have released material via Sub Pop, Tad Doyle and his eponymous outfit began the grizzled metal assault with God's Balls in 1989, then followed up a year later with Salt Lick. As heavyweight bookends, each album was also produced, ironically, by engineers whose careers were elevated by recording Nirvana albums: Jack Endino (God's Balls) with Bleach and Steve Albini (Salt Lick) with In Utero.

After their 1989 debut album, God’s Balls, TAD continued to write and record, releasing a string of singles and the Salt Lick EP between 1989 and 1990. Salt Lick features the single Wood Goblins, the video for which MTV banned because it was, to the delicate eyes of MTV programmers, too ugly.
