The Eternal Reign is an EP by American metal band Born of Osiris. The album is an entire re-recording of their 2007 EP, The New Reign, and it includes one new song, originally intended for the 2007 release, "Glorious Day". An original, rough demo of that song can be found on the 2004 EP, Youm Wara Youm. The Eternal Reign was released on February 24, 2017 through Sumerian Records as a 10-year celebration of the release of The New Reign. This is the last album to feature bassist David Da Rocha.

It is a fully rerecorded album, probably the most worthy re-release in a long time since it is actually made up of effort. This is an actual re-release not a money grab. The only Born Of Osiris record I enjoyed. Still way better than their last album, for sure.
3 Open Arms To Damnation. In 2007, Chicago-area deathcore outfit Born of Osiris released their first EP, The New Reign. A decade later, they celebrated their tenth birthday with a newly recorded version, The Eternal Reign. Wrapped and topped with a big bow for their die-hard faithful, The Eternal Reign improves upon the debut with polished production that results in a sharper, more punishing attack. While the original sounded like the band was trapped inside a thick fog, the 2017 update reveals more range to the Osiris spectrum.

BORN OF OSIRIS "THE ETERNAL REIGN " .6:57pm 05/06/2019 1 35. haasmen. With each album coming at you extremely heavy and powerful Born is one of those bands that doesn’t let you down with each release. While each album is extremely heavy and amazing none are the same. With each showing a growth in the band that is very different from most bands and is amazing all at the same time. I highly recommend this band to people looking to get into Deathcore or Metalcore they are a great start to it.
The Eternal Reign’s instrumentals are very precise, but far more relaxed than some of the band’s previous work. The guitar riffs aren’t as stiff as one would come to expect from Born of Osiris, especially considering The New Reign EP. The newest incarnation of Bow Down features chugging that doesn’t sound choked and claustrophobic like the original. This flexibility brings a new sense of smoothness to the playing that The New Reign didn’t have. With more breathing room, the relaxed playing of The Eternal Reign makes for a groovier experience
