Musikaliszer Pinkos is a title of collection of over two hundred Hebrew religious chants compiled and published by cantor Abraham Berenstein in the year 1927 in Vilna, Poland (today Vilnius, Lithuania). The electronic music on this album was composed by Arturas Bumšteinas using the fragments of melodies found on the Berenstein‘s book. The electronic-only version of Musikaliszer Pinkos was previously released as cassette on Slip Discs (UK). The version for Bolt Records.

Many unscrupulous politicians, like Richard Nixon, exploited the fear of communism by referring to their opponents as "pinkos". The word was predominantly used in the United States, where opposition to Communism grew strong among the population, especially during the McCarthy era. It was also in common use in South Africa during the apartheid era.

The Pinkos album is one of the most refreshing I've heard this year. It's unabashed political overtones and purest punk form is so nice to hear in this era of agro metal-rap and neo-70's hippy-groove rock. Its like the same response delivered by the punk bands in '77 against the album rock deluge of the of the '70s. The album, in its simplicity and directness, remains complex lyrically and refined musically. Its just acoustic guitar and drums. But its loud and brash. Its like The Mekons meet Lucinda Williams meet The Clash.
