Leonard Charles Williams (born February 16, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter and musician, best known for his work during the 1970s. Williams was the lead vocalist for R&B/Soul group Tower of Power. As a soloist, Williams made several hit recordings, including 1978's "Cause I Love You" and 1977's "Choosing You".

Lenny Williams was a product of a pre-MTV era, in which talent and chops counted for more than image in R&B. Although the former Tower of Power singer was considered attractive and could drive women wild - especially when he was belting out a romantic Tower of Power ballad like "So Very Hard to Go" or "Willing to Learn" -. - it was Williams' amazing vocal range that ultimately won over '70s soul audiences  . Choosing You isn't a disco album, although its positive outlook reflects the feel-good mentality of the disco era. This isn't to say that the lyrics aren't substantial - on "Please Don't Tempt Me," for example, Williams portrays a married man who is battling the urge to commit adultery.

Lenny Williams nailed this jam and those notes he hit were nothing nice as usual. the groove and his vocals throw down on this foot stomping bumping cut which never lets up. Lenny Williams is One of the Most underrated musical talents ever. the way he puts his voice on a cut and keeps getting at it is truly something else. One person found this helpful.
