Destiny's Child is the self-titled debut studio album by American R&B group Destiny's Child, released by Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment on February 17, 1998. It features the singles "No, No, No" and "With Me". It won Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for Best R&B/Soul Album of the Year due to both singles having a remix (Part 2) as well as having an original version (Part 1). Both singles preceded the album.

Soon after, Destiny's Child dropped their third LP Survivor, which debuted at number one and featured two more hugely popular singles, "Bootylicious" and the title track. A Christmas collection and remix album followed, after which all three members released solo albums.

In that department Destiny's Child really did. Produced with Beyonce's brother Mathew Knowles there was also a strong sense of long standing unity and familiarity among the members. A nice middle ground is created at the beginning of the album with a cover of the Isley's "Second Nature".

Destiny's Child have never quite seemed like a true group, possibly because Beyoncé Knowles always took the spotlight in the group's hits and videos. When the group went their separate ways in the wake of the blockbuster success of 2001's Survivor, it was easy to assume that the split was permanent, a suspicion that only grew when Beyoncé became a superstar with her 2003 solo debut, Dangerously in Love.

Formed in 1990 in Houston, Destiny’s Child went through several lineup changes before releasing the group’s first album in 1998 and disbanding amicably in 2006.
