Atomic is an original soundtrack album by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, released on 1 April 2016 on Rock Action Records. The music was originally composed for Mark Cousins' documentary Atomic, Living in Dread and Promise. The album features entirely instrumental music from start to finish.

Read: Face a Shining Future: A Conversation with Underworld’s Karl Hyde). The resulting lyrics are biting, and pertinent, and present without ever demanding the spotlight. Hyde and Smith are almost 60 years old. They slow things down for the rest of the album, letting moody music largely override lyrics. Surprisingly, it works. As tempos switch into second gear (basically a modest club beat), everything falls into place.
