John Francis McCormack, KSG, KSS, KHS (14 June 1884 – 16 September 1945) was an Irish tenor, celebrated for his performances of the operatic and popular song repertoires, and renowned for his diction and breath control. He was also a Papal Count. He became a naturalised American citizen before returning to live in Ireland

Lynde McCormick departed Boston 23 August 1961 for her home port, San Diego, arriving 16 September. Early in 1962, she tested her missiles and antisubmarine weaponry in the Pacific missile range. Exercises and experiments continued in preparation for deployment to the western Pacific, for which she sailed 19 November 1962. She arrived at Yokosuka on 6 December and within a week was on station with a 7th Fleet task group, taking up her part in the schedule of readiness training and exercises . 31 Jan: USS John Paul Jones. 14 Feb: USS Lynde McCormick.

After attending St. John’s Preparatory School and College, he graduated from the Naval Academy with distinction 4 June 1915. He served in Wyoming with the British Grand Fleet during World War I, then in South Carolina and Buchanan. Looking north from Mare Island Navy Yard berth 24, two former destroyers the ex-USS McCormick (DDG-8), nearest to camera, and an unidentified sister ship are seen in their final configuration, circa 1998. Both ships were partially converted to floating power plants. The ships are berthed at Mare Island Navy Yard in this photo, as the the conversion program had been cancelled. Rock Island is the 17th studio album by the British rock group Jethro Tull, released in 1989. The album continued the hard rock direction the band took on the previous effort, Crest of a Knave (1987). The line-up now included Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Dave Pegg and drummer Doane Perry in his first full recording with the band, although he was already a member of Jethro Tull since 1984.
