Quannum Spectrum is a 1999 compilation album by artists associated with American hip hop record label and collective Quannum Projects. It was the first release on the Quannum label after its name was changed from Solesides. In addition to Quannum artists, the album features contributions from Jurassic 5, Divine Styler, Souls of Mischief, and El-P.

Quannum Projects (also known as Quannum MCs) is a hip hop collective based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has been active since 1992, when it was formed at UC Davis under the moniker Solesides Records. It is also the name of the independent record label that releases their records, as well as those of a number of other artists. The label continues to be 100% independently owned and operated. Apsci (Dana Diaz-Tutaan & Raphael LaMotta – Brooklyn, New York).

However, Spectrum, the first group released under the Quannum name, seems like a collection of the various members' wackier experiments, and while some of them (Latryx and DJ Shadow's "Storm Front," Maroons and Chief Xcel's "Golden Rule") bear fruit, most seem over-indulgent. The production is consistently creative and interesting, but as the songs veer into the realms of funk, soul, and R&B, the songwriting just isn't there; most everyone present on the album has made some great music, but little of it is to be found here.

A label-compilation project showcasing the varied and growing talents of the rejuvenated Solesides crew, now known as Quannum, Quannum Spectrum represents the unparalleled ambition of one of underground rap's most respected collectives. Though the critics have given DJ Shadow most of the attention, Quannum Spectrum boasts excellent productions and intricate rapping from a half-dozen important figures, including Chief Xcel and Gift of Gab (from Blackalicious), Lateef the Truth Speaker and Lyrics Born (from Latyrx), plus - for one track - guest producer El-P.
