Love Removal Machine" is a song recorded by the British rock band The Cult. It was the first single to be released from the group's 1987 album Electric. First recorded during a radio session, it had a different arrangement, was recorded for the band's third album, Peace. When that album was scrapped, it was re-recorded for the replacement album, Electric. An extended remix was also created and released on a 12" single. The song was named the 74th best hard rock song of all time by VH1.
Love is the second album by British rock band The Cult, released in 1985 on Beggars Banquet Records. The album was the band's commercial breakthrough, reaching number four in the UK and staying on the chart for 22 weeks. It produced three Top 40 singles in the UK, "She Sells Sanctuary", "Rain" and "Revolution". It has been released in nearly 30 countries and sold an estimated . million copies. Love was recorded at Jacob's Studios in Farnham, Surrey, in July and August 1985.

This song was originally recorded, albeit with a different arrangement, for Peace, an album that was scrapped by The Cult after they grew unhappy with its sound. After abandoning the album, the band left England for New York, where they met the legendary producer, Rick Rubin, who convinced The Cult to re-record Peace and re-title it Electric

This is the second version of for this release, with the repressing/reissue of the second disc.The first pressing of Love Removal Machine , the double 7 inch, and just prior to the release, 20,000 copies of the 2nd disc had to be destroyed when it was belatedly discovered that the labels mis-credited the production to Rick Rubin, and not Steve Brown.
Released in a gatefold sleeve.
