Recording sessions for the album took place at Electric Lady Studios during 1997 to 1998, coinciding with recording for other projects of the Soulquarians collective, including D'Angelo's Voodoo (2000), Erykah Badu's Mama's Gun (2000), and Common's Like Water for Chocolate (2000).

First off, this album came in perfect condition! The quality is amazing and everything about it is great. So many things come inside the album such as a photobook, a mini poster, 3 photocards, postcards, stickers, and of course the cd itself. For a rookie group i’d say this is one of the best album packaging, and all the songs are amazing.

It's to be expected that Jazzanova would turn in excellent productions with every track, but what's most impressive about Of All the Things is the work that Jazzanova haven't made their forté in the past - songwriting, arrangements, and the pairing of each vocalist with a song that works perfectly for them. Whereas in the past, Jazzanova's preeminence was obvious on the surface, Of All the Things displays their subtle powers for music-making.
