Boy is the debut studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 20 October 1980 by Island Records and was produced by Steve Lillywhite. Boy contains many songs from the band's 40-song catalogue at the time, including two tracks that were re-recorded from their original versions on their debut release, the EP Three. Boy was recorded from July to September 1980 at Dublin's Windmill Lane Studios, which became U2's chosen recording location during the 1980s.

Sound Boy was a subsiduary label formed by Adrian Sherwood with the On-U Sound re-launch of 2002. The idea was to allow On-U Sound as a label to concentrate on album releases by Sherwood's own core of current singers and players. It's brief partly was to take over the issue of singles, EP's and discoplates that had previously been issued under the On-U Sound banner. Additionally there were several re-issues of earlier and/or previously unreleased On-U material. Sound Boy was a cross between the On-U Sound, Pressure Sounds and Green Tea imprints.
