Disposable Heroes is the fifth track on 1986's Master of Puppets, composed by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett. Keeping with the theme of manipulation and powerlessness, the song is about the drafting system, war, and death, explaining the title "Disposable Heroes". The line "back to the front" is said multiple times in the song. The song is the third longest song in the entire album, after "Orion" and "Master of Puppets"

Disposable Heroes Lyrics. Bodies fill the fields I see, hungry heroes end No one to play soldier now, no one to pretend Running blind through killing fields, bred to kill them all Victim of what said should be, a servant 'til I fall. Soldier boy, made of clay, now an empty shell Twenty-one, only son, but he served us well Bred to kill, not to care, do just as we say Finished here, greeting death, he's yours to take away. This song from Metallica’s third album is an anti-war song. It is one of the most intense songs Metallica has ever written, with certain sections performed at 220 beats per minute. Disposible Heros is a kick ass hard, speed metal song with talkign about the war and how teens then were basically only used for war in all. Battery is the first song on the album has a very fats pase and his vocals are speedy. I'd agree this the best Metallica album for sound. Lyrics - 8 Well most of the lyrics dont really mean any thign except for Disposiable Heros and Orion (joking again). That's another thign the lyrics just sound good with the guitars so whatcha gunna do. James Hetfeild is probably one of the best singers of the 80s. I know you think he doesn't have a good.
