Formed by John Zewizz around 1980, Sleep Chamber has had a wide assortment of members, and performed a wide variety of music. Very early works were very experimental in nature, with elements of musique concrete. Shortly thereafter Sleep Chamber was recording ritual/ambient music, which continued into the early 1990s. In the mid-1980s the band also began working with more electro/EBM material, often meshed with their ritual works. This trend generally continued and took on additional rock-oriented dimensions in the 1990s. Front man John Zewizz is also working on a solo album of mostly original music, with a cover or two including Peggy Lee's "Fever". Вебсайты: sleepchamber.

Satanic Sanction was an EP by Sleep Chamber, featuring the lineup of John Zewizz and Jonathan Briley, with help from Larry Van Horn and Laura Chopelas. Originally released as a 12" vinyl EP on the Italian label Musica Maxima Magnetica (catalog EEE 02), it was reissued in 1999, expanded by five tracks, by US label RRRecords (catalog XXX-PROMO-05), limited to only 50 copies. In 2010, Satanic Sanction was again reissued, by Austrian label Klanggalerie (catalog GG138). The original recordings were mastered at Newburry Sound in Boston by Jeff Dovner.
