Deadley" Headley Bennett, OD (born circa 1931, Kingston, Jamaica – died August 21, 2016), was a Jamaican saxophonist who performed on hundreds of recordings since the 1950's. He performed with many bands, such as: Lynn Taitt Band, The Jetts, The Mighty Vikings, The Revolutionaries, Creation Rebel or The Sheiks. He was an active session musician recording for numerous artists including: Bob Marley, The Abyssinians, Alton Ellis and Prince Far I to name a few. In the liner notes of LP's and CD's he is often referred to as Headley ''Deadly'' Bennett

In 1962, as a member of The Sheiks, he performed at Palisadoes Airport to greet Princess Margaret on her visit to the island to mark Jamaica's independence. In the ska era of the late 1950s and 1960s he played on. many recordings for a variety of studios including Bob Marley's first recording, "Judge Not" for Leslie Kong, and Derrick & Patsy's "Housewives Choice". He went on to record with The Abyssinians, Alton Ellis, and Prince Far I among many.

The only solo LP from Deadly Headley Bennett and released back in 1982. The title refers to the legendary Alpha School in Jamaica from where so many instrumental talents on the island emerged. A who played on countless recordings sessions, and was in the ranks of backing groups from the golden era of reggae such as the Sound Dimension and the Arabs. released January 1, 1982. An alumni of the legendary Alpha School in Jamaica that also produced talents such as Tommy McCook, Rico Rodriguez and Don Drummond, Headley Bennett played on countless sessions in his home country before moving to the UK and becoming part of the eclectic gang of On-U singers & players.
