Found this vinyl released in 1990. Cool, trippy mixes. Confusion is one of my faves. It was a no brainer to buy it.

Confusion was one of my least favourite New Order tracks, but from the moment I heard the Jean Michel Jarre loops in A2 & A3, it spoke to me. Then the flipside containing 2 old skool acid-house numbers!!! :) I wonder if this where Pump Panel got the inspiration from? It gave them the vocal too...easily put into that vocoder!

I personally think this is an essential record - compared to the many atrocious attempts to cover/remix 'Confusion' this is a very fine attempt. The accapella is definitely a bonus though - drop it onto a sparse electro instrumental and watch them go wild!

These are semi-official remixes; Arthur Baker co-wrote the song, and this record is on his label. The alternative mix is the most timeless of the bunch, but slow and sparse by today's standards. The ambient mix is sonically the most interesting, though not exactly ambient. It's hard to ruin the song, but Omar Santana sure tried. Perhaps the best thing about this release is the inclusion of a true acapella version, for rolling your own remix. Not an essential record, but recommended if you're a fan of this classic dance track.
