Sherman Rodgers is one of the first wave of Chicago House producers who released under the monikers of North/Clybourn for Gherkin Records and Black Ice for Velvet City records. In the early 90’s he got together with Robert Grillo and Tony Watson to form Underground Evolution. Together with David Brown who had previously sang for Ralphi Rosario on ‘Feel Love’ they came up with their debut . Three years later in 1999 Peace Frog released their debut album 'Primordial Passage', an epic 10 track album featuring the vocal talents of Grazyna Auguscik, drawing in influences from jazz, ethnic folk, Brazilian music and of course house. Disc 2 features extended versions of selected songs as heard in the film, numbers not included on the Original Soundtrack Album, and an interview with composer Richard Rodgers. Although future Soundtrack re-issues (one about every five years) would combine everything to one disc for a total of around 27 tracks, this 2 disc presentation provides a unique listening experience. The packaging, liner notes, photos, etc. are also especially nice. These "flaws" are not a problem for me as they remind me of the vinyl my family listened to shortly after the movie was at the theatre.
