Redemption serves as the final chapter in a trilogy that includes 2013's Goldenheart and 2015's Blackheart. The album features contributions from Noisecastle III as well as New Orleans natives Trombone Shorty and PJ Morton.

Redemption is the third album in what the artist calls her "Heart trilogy," following 2013's Goldenheart and last year's Blackheart. It comes in the wake of her Infrared EP for Fade To Mind, where she worked with Kingdom, and "Not Above That" from earlier this year, produced by Machinedrum.

From show stoppin' as part of girl group Danity Kane (and then as part of Diddy Dirty Money) to show running as a solo act, D∆WN aka Dawn Richard finally found her niche within experimental electronica. Following up on her Infrared EP and a mythological fashion film, Richard has announced that her new album, Redemption, will be released next month on November 18 via Local Action, Our Dawn Entertainment.
