The same lineup that made the band's previous reunion album, 1977's When Scopes Collide, came together again for this surprise 1990 release, wryly subtitled "We Ain't Dead Ye. It's stronger than its predecessor. As in the previous set, there are covers (of the Coasters' "Down in Mexico" and Duke Ellington's "Wild Man"). Here we also get Abdullah Ibrahim's "African Market Place," Don & Dewey's "Jungle Hop," and the Music Machine's 1966 hit "Talk Talk.
Kaleidoscope (originally the Kaleidoscope) was an American psychedelic folk and ethnic band who recorded 4 albums and several singles for Epic Records between 1966 and 1970. The band membership included David Lindley, who later released numerous solo albums and won additional renown as a t session musician, and Chris Darrow who later performed and recorded with a number of groups including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The group was formed in 1966.

The album has some very interesting ideas. I really enjoy diverse styles range from eastern type psych, to country rock, to folk, with some ragtime element. an you tell me how the record was recorded and produced? How many copies were made and who did the cover artwork? The songs were mostly recorded as we did them live. David decided not to show up but everyone was much older and better than when we were in our twenties, so the music is much more mature and sophisticated for my tastes. Once again the roster of musicians was the original band and the addition of Paul Lagos on drums and Stuart Brotman on bass and exotic instruments.
Released: January 1, 1991.
