Jan Barich, AKA Ma. che, is ready to release his debut album, Ulfo. Along with Alexander Neuschulz and Dennis Knoof (AKA Sevensol & Bender), Barich is a founder of Kann Records, the label arm of a Leipzig record store of the same name. Since 2008, Kann has quietly become a consistent source of atmospheric, understated deep house, mostly by a crew of local artists.

Great House album that works for both home listening and - partially - the dancefloor. Fantastic work from Ma. che, playful with the sounds, very laid back, often with an unexpected twist. Barich has a way with melody that marks him out from many of his German peers. He also seems more concerned with creating ear-pleasing compositions than pandering to dancefloors. It's a bold move, in many respects, but one that ensures impressive results.
