But, with a handful of hit singles and an album under his belt, he simply turned around and belted out another one in 1976 - the patchy, but occasionally wonderful Rain Forest. Combining swishy disco instrumentals with the composer's own Eastern influences, the album proved to be another foray into danceable pop as the title track comes on strong, leaving the rest of the set to unfurl like so many leaves. And it did indeed score Biddu his second . hit single - just inching into the Top 40 in April, with the catchy ca-Chic" hovering just behind.
His album Rain Forest earned him four Ivor Novello Awards, including the "Songwriter of the Year" award. Some of his early examples of electronic disco include.
