The organ subsequently became his weapon of choice with the Blues Project and the first album by the band he started, Blood, Sweat & Tears, as well as on sessions for the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, the Who and many others. He sings and plays on the Donovan song Season of the Witch from the 1968 Super Session album he cut with Stephen Stills and Mike Bloomfield. I agree with all the aforementioned add-ins who weren’t on the original list but also surprised that no one remembered the great Ken Hensley of Uriah Heep and the great Chick Churchill of Ten Years After.

The Anthology of American Folk Music is a six-album compilation released in 1952 by Folkways Records (catalogue FP 251, FP 252, and FP 253), comprising eighty-four American folk, blues and country music recordings that were originally issued from 1927 to 1932. Experimental film maker Harry Smith compiled the music from his personal collection of 78 rpm records. The album is famous due to its role as a touchstone for the American folk music revival in the 1950s and 1960s

By the time Waits made his second album, he'd fully developed his talent for growling, jazzy beatnik gutter tales, and had largely dispensed with the love songs. He does it best on "Diamonds on My Windshield" and "The Ghosts of Saturday Night. The album that turned folk music inside out. VU began as a black-booted antidote to flower power, so the quiet disillusion, exhaustion and ache here is as explosive as their first album's forbidding howl. Various Artists, ‘The Sun Records Collection’. Blues without polish, country without corn, and rockabilly played with brainless abandon from Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash – as well as obscure gems like Bill Justis' aptly named "Raunchy.

Once music makes it to the 2000s, the overarching acceptance of Marilyn Manson into the mainstream confused music and confused American society’s understanding of what goth is (Marilyn Manson and most heavy metal in general is definitely not goth), not to mention the overarching acceptance and mainstreaming into Germany. I feel that one particular album (which was a part of the rotation, but didn’t make the cut) needs an honorable mention  . The texture and mood created in this album is all very soft, mellow and melancholy but pretty. The keys are sparse and church organ-like. The bass keys are light and sneaky.
