Teddy is the third album by R&B crooner Teddy Pendergrass, released on June 23, 1979. It included more "bedroom ballads," comparable to Marvin Gaye's Midnight Love. Two singles were released from the album: "Turn Off the Lights", which reached US Pop and on the R&B charts, and "Come Go With Me," which reached R&B. All tracks composed by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff; except where indicated.
Some artists come across well on live LPs and some average. Teddy Pendergrass fits the latter description. You had to have been there to feel and experience the energy and visual of Teddy live. The audience definitely enjoyed the show, as the screaming starts from the moment he's introduced to the finale. When Somebody Loves You Back" has a cute hook, but goes on too long (more than 12 minutes); the sensuous "Come Go With Me" is bum-rushed after a little more than two minutes
TP is the fourth album by R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass. It reached No. 14 on the US pop albums chart and No. 3 on the US R&B albums chart. It spawned the top ten singles, "Can't We Try", which was also featured in the soundtrack to the film Roadie, and "Love . It's also his only album while at Philadelphia International Records without any input from label founders Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff.

Live! Coast To Coast. 2 people found this helpful. It has often been said that Teddy Pendergrass' live concerts from his pre-accident solo career (1977-1982) were a true spectacle in and of themselves and that,as a singer, he was (in many ways) X-rated and that Luther Vandross was (in comparison) G-rated. Judging by the frenzied and euphoric reaction from those in attendance at the two concerts which make up this package's contents, one can't help but think there was definitely something to that observation.
