Derrick Harriott (born February 6th, 1939, Jamaica) is a singer and record producer, founder of Crystal Records (3), along with shop/distributor Derrick's One Stop and subsequent labels Move & Groove and Crystal D. In 1971, Swing magazine named Harriott the Top Producer of 1970.

Derrick Harriott (born Derrick Clinton Harriott, 6 February 1939, Jamaica) is a singer and record producer. He was a member of the Jiving Juniors before embarking on a solo career. In the 1980s, he continued to have hits with soul cover versions, such as "Skin To Skin" and "Checking Out". In 1988 he scored with "Starting All Over Again", a duet with Yellowman, with lyrics about Hurricane Gilbert In July 2002 in Lord Tanamo. The Best of Derrick Harriott – 1965 – Island. Derrick Harriott - It's All Right A selection of magical rocksteady music from one of the masters of the genr. ne of the forerunners in Jamaican music from its very beginning, Derrick Harriott, along with a stellar cast, showcases the some superb rocksteady. After an incredible sixty years in the Jamaican music business the ever youthful Derrick Harriott is still actively involved in making music, reissuing classics from his copious catalogue, performing stage shows that would exhaust a man half his age and continuing to run his record shop in Half Way Tree, Kingston, Jamaica

After having sung in church, Derrick Harriott started in the ’50s as a member of the duo Sang & Harriott. They scored with Lollipop Girl, both for Coxsone as well as for Duke Reid. Claude Sang left Jamaica and Derrick formed the ska/doo-wop group The Jiving Juniors. After the release of several tunes The Jiving Juniors disbanded in 1962 and Derrick Harriott set up the labels Crystal Records and Musical Chariot. He had minor hits with singles such as I Care and the Donnie Elbert do-over What Can I Do. In 1966 Derrick opened his own record shop. With Dennis Brown he recorded the brilliant Super Reggae & Soul Hits album. Derrick Harriott helped to shape the chirpy rocksteady sound in Jamaica and is spoken of with reverence by many Jamaican artists.
