Complete your Hazy Osterwald Und Sein Sextett collection. I'm not sure if this is the first press from 1954, because some of the releases mentioned on the back cover actually seem to hail from 1957. I believe that the one with the much darker cover (and red labels) could have pre-dated this on. .

The founding members were Sunny Lang (bass), John Ward (drums), Pierre Cavalli (guitar), Ernst H¦llerhagen (clarinet) and Francis Burger (piano). Later, other members like Curt Prina (piano), Dennis Armitage (saxophone) and Peter Beil (trumpet) joined the band. Big success were the tracks "Kriminal Tango" (1959), "Panoptikum" (1960) and "Konjunktur Cha-Cha" (1961).

Rolf Osterwald, better known as Hazy Osterwald ( February 18, 1922, Bern - February 26, 2012, Lucerne) was a Swiss jazz bandleader, trumpeter, and vibraphonist. Osterwald began his career as a pianist. He arranged for Fred Böhler in the late 1930s and joined him as a trumpeter in 1941; around this time he also worked with Edmond Cohanier, Philippe Brun, Bob Huber, Eddie Brunner and Teddy Stauffer.
