Ty Segall is the ninth studio album by American garage rock musician Ty Segall, released on January 27, 2017 on Drag City Records. Recorded with engineer Steve Albini, it is Segall's second self-titled studio album, following the release of his debut in 2008. Preceded by the single, "Orange Color Queen", the album was recorded with a full backing band, consisting of regular collaborators, Mikal Cronin (bass), Charles Moothart (drums) and Emmett Kelly (guitar), alongside Ben Boye (piano)

Ty keeps us guessing while splashing our collective face with no shortage of astringent tunes of all colors.

Ty Segall is the self-titled debut studio album by American garage rock musician Ty Segall, released on December 9, 2008 on Castle Face Records. Local garage rock musician John Dwyer, of Thee Oh Sees and Coachwhips, offered to release Ty Segall on his label, Castle Face Records.

Ty Segall reveals himself to be literally the most cut throat rocker out there in the wild new video for his new song Taste. The track will appear on Segall’s upcoming album, First Taste, out August 2nd via Drag City. Taste is a heavy relentless track with a mesmerizing percussion rumble that buoys a barrage of noise that churns like a buzzsaw without forfeiting any melody. Our salivating makes it all taste worse, Segall wails before the song descends into a menacing final breakdown

Sleeper is the sixth studio album by American indie rock musician Ty Segall, released on August 24, 2013 on Drag City Upon the album's release, Segall noted, "I was not in a good spot. I had been through some rough stuff, like my dad passed away, and was going through some relationship issues, too. Plus, I was having all of these awful dreams.

Ty Segall is the second self-titled album in his discography (after his 2008 eponymous debut), seemingly because its 10 tracks offer a complete portrait of his many capabilities. But Ty Segall is more than just an easy entry point into his imposing catalog. The new album shows Segall has not only mastered several, stylistically divergent strains of rock-he’s becoming ever more adept at seamlessly stitching them together

I love this album but sonically it does not compete with the vinyl copy of Manipulator. That is a thing of beauty. As mentioned it is somewhat muddy thanks to the overly boomy bottom end. I actually prefer the sound of the digital copy I have. Material wise, it's fantastic. That's why the four stars.

This record sounds muddy compared to his other releases. I was very shocked.

How many copies have you tried? Fortunately my copy sounds great!
sergant
That is indeed disappointing. I am happy to report that the vinyl version sounds great. Haven't heard a digital mix yet but will update as I do.

no download code included? drag city being tight as always
Peras
After listening to this album several times I have to say I really enjoy it, and the sound quality is very good.
Gadar
Pretty disappointed with the sound quality of this cassette. Sounds like pillows are strapped to my speakers. Digital version sounds significantly better.
Varshav
Very good very good very good very good very good
Dainris
Just received my pre-ordered lp. It came with a poster as an extra. The vinyl is black.
Tekasa
Is this album going to have a colored vinyl pressing?
Mot
FreakBoutiqueVintage: Pretty much, haha. Random translucent red and yellow copies were thrown in with plain black LPs. You can see a thread of people discussing it here: https://www.discogs.com/Ty-Segall-Manipulator/release/6019037 . Emotional Mugger wasn't done that way, so I doubt Drag City would go back to that approach with this release.
Whiteseeker
Got mine in the mail from DC today and it's black.
Xal
They did that with Manipulator? Was it completely random or specifically with the "x" amount of first orders?
Paster
was just trying to figure this out, too. i'm wondering if drag city will throw in random colored pressings like they did with manipulator...
