Watershed is the ninth full-length studio album by the Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. Released by Roadrunner Records, Watershed is the first studio album by Opeth to feature guitarist Fredrik Åkesson and drummer Martin Axenrot, who replaced longtime guitarist Peter Lindgren and drummer Martin Lopez. The artwork for the album was made by Travis Smith (who has created the artwork for eight previous Opeth releases) in collaboration with Mikael Åkerfeldt.

Album Name Watershed. The album starts off with "Coil" which almost has an upbeat and romantic feel to it. Mike's voice then being replaced by a beautiful woman's.

Watershed is a music studio album recording by OPETH (Tech/Extreme Prog Metal/Progressive Rock) released in 2008 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Experimental/Post Metal. The fact it's a transitional album doesn't make it a great one. In fact, I believe it's a step down from 'Ghost Reveries' and, for all its good qualities, not a patch on 'Still Life' or 'Blackwater Park'. Lovely production and all that, splendid musicianship (AKERFELDT's clean vocals are now perhaps the best in metal), but there really isn't more than a couple of memorable songs here.
