The Very Best of Kim Wilde is a compilation album by British singer Kim Wilde. It was released in November 2001 and contained 15 Top 20 hits from the UK and German charts and was virtually identical to her 1993 hits collection. Also included was a new song, "Loved", which was released as a single in a number of countries - her first in six years, reaching the Top 10 in Belgium and Top 20 in Finland

The album was released in November 1984, after she left the RAK Record label. It featured tracks taken from her first three albums, the non-album singles, "Child Come Away" and "Bitter is Better" (Japan only) and a B-side ("Boys"). The Very Best of Kim Wilde. This very first compilation album of Kim Wilde tracks was released by EMI Records in 1984, near to the release date of the album Teases & dares, which Kim recorded for MCA Records. It was a strategy EMI Records would use many times, years later. For more than 15 years, the Japanese CD of this compilation was the only CD to contain the elusive track Bitter is better. Kim about 'The very best of Kim Wilde'. I really hated the picture on the cover, the lack of thought behind it, that it actually contained several LP tracks, and I've never really forgiven EMI for it. (1). Chart performance. The Very Best of Kim Wilde, a compilation on Rak from 1985, reissues some of Kim Wilde's best performances from the first half of her career, several years before her American Number One "You Keep Me Hangin' On" dropped in 1987. Beginning with 1981's "Kids in America," the disc compiles the cream of her first three albums, including "Water on Glass," "Chequered Love," "View From a Bridge," "Cambodia," and "House of Salome.
