I just found this fantastic record among a stack that was given to me by an in-law just today. it was in the wrong cover of an unimpressive artist, so imagine my surprise when I pulled this out of the sleeve--pure gold!

my fave electro record, sounds so fresh still, effortless lushness

Relating to Fabs comment.. I have the first pressing ("distr. by Bound Sound/Tampa") and both sides have different versions.

LOL @ the person who disagreed with my post. Perhaps I was dreaming that I had that conversation?

you are definately right Kramtronix, this one is definately the 1st pressing of Computer Funk. I know Dxj very good since the 90's, it was him personally confirming that this one is the first press as mentioned also in my first review. It would be nice if we could see who disagree on discogs, than there will be better possible to discus, it seems that there are people who just like to disagree and dats it ;-)peaceFab
Global Progression
I spoke with James mcCauley in 1996 via telephone and I asked him why this version had a Tampa address. Naturally, I was interested because I'm from Tampa. He said that he never lived in Tampa, but that the label was briefly being ran from here. Therefore, a P.O. box was set up for this short period of time. He also confirmed that the Tampa pressing was the 1st pressing.

This pressing of "Ose / Computer Funk" showing "distr. by Bound Sound/Tampa" is the 1st pressing of this fantastic Old School Vocoder Electro Jam. This was also the debut of the one and only Dxj aka James Mc Cauley. Later they pressed this record again under distribution of "Kenyon Entertainment Corp." Unfortunately they mispressed this first pressing of "Computer Funk". On both sides you will find the same version even it is showing two different versions on the Label. So at least you need both pressings, this one because it's the 1st pressing, and the other one because it includes both versions. For your info, the 1st pressing is harder to get, definately rarer. Peace Fab

I just picked up the Kenyon Distro version of this 12" and it actually has BOTH versions. With regular on A side and more stripped down version on the B side. Def worth picking up!

There are two presses of this record in existence for the completist out there. One distributed by Bound Sound Records and another by Kenyon Entertainment Corporation. They are exactly the same except the distribution details are different as is the typeface. Used to be hard track to find and was highly sort after in electro circles but with the advent of online stores makes quite a regular occurence these days. An electro classic.
