Breakout" is a single from the third Foo Fighters album There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The single was released as a two disc set in the UK and Europe, and also had separate releases in the Netherlands, Australia and Japan. Promotional singles were also released in the US for radio play. The song appeared as a playable track in Lego Rock Band. The video was directed by The Malloys that served as a tie-in to the song's appearance in the film Me, Myself & Irene.
Dave Grohl wrote and recorded the entire album himself, apart from a guest guitar spot by Greg Dulli, with the assistance of producer Barrett Jones at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, Washington, in 1994.
