Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica is a tribute album to thrash metal band Metallica. The album features Metallica covers played not by formal bands, but collaborations between musicians from several bands And Justice For All are featured. Robert Trujillo, who later joined Metallica in 2003 plays bass on two tracks.
Album-quality tribute to metallica.
Tribute was released as the lead single off their self-titled debut album. The song plays out as a tribute to the actual best song in the world that the D have forgotten what sounded like. It is one of, if not the most recognizable song by Tenacious D. In an interview with JimmyO, Kyle and Jack said that the inspiration from the song came after Jack played Metallica’s One for Kyle. And I think this song is the best song in the world. And then Kyle agreed after he listened to it thrice. At first he said nay. Then he said perhaps. And then he said yeah. However, the lyrics make clear that Tribute sounds nothing like the song they came up with to please the demon. Some people think that Tribute is a tribute to the song Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown), which they played in the rock-off challenge between Satan and Tenacious D in their movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.
New Studio Album or Release Standalone Singles? Legendary OZZY OSBOURNE Weighs In. Contents. I’m trying to think if anybody else came in, he said. I don’t really think anybody else came in. But John came in and he had this really whiskey voice, and he played rhythm guitar, which was really cool, because, obviously, Mick Mars being the only guitar player, when you have a second guitar, you can write different music. Sixx continued: My only complaint about that record is I believe it shouldn’t have been called MÖTLEY CRÜE; we should have just taken a bullet, changed the name of the band, because when people got the record, they’re, like, ‘This doesn’t sound like MÖTLEY CRÜE. ‘Cause Vince wasn’t singing, and we kind of, musically, went into a little bit of a different direction.

Mean Everything to Nothing. Mean Everything to Nothing, the title of the band's latest and best-yet effort, tamps down the dramatics in favor of a pithy phrase drawn from the Young Existentialist's Handbook. The emotions on Everything still run incredibly high, but the music has gotten much buffer, due no doubt to the band's relentless touring schedule over the past few years. On "Shake It Out", Hull's lyrics- voiced in a ng timbre that should sound exceedingly familiar by now- ride a dual-exhaust punk riff to a chorus that just barely stops itself from diving headfirst into hillbilly territory. The title "I've Got Friends" nods backward to No Fences, but Hull is far from sweeping onstage via zipline, wireless mic strapped to his head.
This is the second album released by Modest Mouse and boy is it hard to tell. The young Isaac Brock, Jeremiah Greene, and Eric Judy, as well as help with mixing and female vocals (I believe by a Nicole ) really hit it out of the park with something that's further from tracks and closer to musical poetry. Word to the wise, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About lives up to it's name. It's food for the deepest thought I've ever entered. If you don't focus, this is a long album. The last four or so songs just put me in this mood that can't be matched by anything. One person found this helpful.
