org A solo talent flitting between Patrick Wolf and Villagers, David’s Lyre – aka solo artist Paul Dixon – clearly has plenty of potential to become a pop force that falls between instant appeal and indie-er tastes. Secondly, David's Lyre may refer to a band or just Dixon but no one's really sure. Thirdly, he may or may not have been in some pretty dodgy bands in the past and that may or may not explain why he appears in press shots (and some of his early videos) wearing a mask. Still, one thing we are certain about is that he (and perhaps some mates) have made a wonderful EP, In Arms, and that the title track is a dramatic, horn-bolstered love song that soars and swoops over clattering drums and piano, like Patrick Wolf at his most OTT. David's Album was a 1969 album by Joan Baez, recorded in Nashville. It was Baez' eleventh album to date. It peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. Baez's then husband, David Harris, a country music fan, was about to be imprisoned for draft resistance, and she recorded the album as a gift to him. It was recorded during the same sessions as Baez's previous release of Bob Dylan songs, Any Day Now. The cover sketch is a drawing of David Harris by Joan Baez.
