Borrowed is the final of five tracks to be released from Re-Imagined, a collection of re-worked tunes from Rimes’ catalogue. The heartbreaking song is from Rimes’ 2013 album, Spitfire. Nicks herself plucked Borrowed from Rimes’ catalogue for the two to record together, she said in a statement: I first heard ‘Borrowed’ in 2013-LeAnn was singing it on The Tonight Show.
