The last time Fennesz released an album on Austrian label Mego it was 2001 and the name of that release was 'Endless Summer'. Eschewing the more drone orientated works of 'Black Sea', 'Bécs' returns to the more florid pop mechanisms as deployed on Endless Summer
Tribute to John Cage in Four Parts, a tribute to John Cage recorded live with Patrick Pulsinger, was released by Col Legno that year. Fennesz contributed to David Sylvian's spoken word album There's a Light That Enters Houses with No Other House in Sight, released by Samadhisound near the end of 2014.
Here comes Fennesz, with his highly anticipated fourth studio album on Touch. Christian Fennesz is a prolific Vienna based composer who has been crafting electronic multi-layered laptop compositions with an aid of his guitar since the late 90s. Or is it the other way around? His guitar driven pieces with a heavy dose of DSP? Either way, Fennesz has developed that instantly recognizable and many times imitated sound.
As with the most recent reissues of Endless Summer, contemporaneous Fat Cat-released track 'Badminton Girl' is included, along with 'Endless'.
Endless Summer is an album by Austrian electronic music producer and guitarist Fennesz, released on 3 July 2001 by Mego. It brought him critical recognition and became "a hit in left-field electronica," influencing many artists. It was named the 14th best album of the decade by Tiny Mix Tapes, 26th by Pitchfork, and 41st by Resident Advisor.

Christian Fennesz's trademark sound combines guitar playing with digital techniques like granular synthesis to make multilayered compositions that blend melody and conventional musical instruments with harsh, irregular glitch-influenced sounds and washes of white noise. This style has been described as "Rock meets PowerBook".
