Broadcast to the World is the sixth studio album released by American punk rock band Zebrahead. The album was influenced by Lit's A Place in the Sun (1999). It is their first album with new co-vocalist/rhythm guitarist Matty Lewis, who replaced former member Justin Mauriello after he left the group in late 2004. Shawn Harris of The Matches created the artwork for the album, and for the band's follow-up album, Phoenix.
Broadcast to the World is the third release from Zebrahead on Sony Music Entertainment, and the successor to Zebrahead's critically acclaimed third release, MFZB in 2003. It features the vocal, guitar debut of Matty Lewis, who replaced long time Zebrahead vocalist, guitarist Justin Mauriello. The album was released in Japan on February 22 on Sony Music Entertainment, in Europe on July 3 (June 30 in Germany), and in North America on October 24, 2006. Lyrics to "Broadcast To The World" song by Zebrahead: Brace yourself kid for the final collapse Cuz the world is spinning fast coming off its axis Figh. So here we go reload Another round implode We're spinning now until our heads explode And so I guess we know how far we all can go We're on a mission to destroy the world we know. The saints and the sinners have identity crises. that spread like a virus multiplies and lysis Down to the bottom Looted graves they turn Eat the razorblade apple Open a can of worms Narcotics on the weekends As the city it burns
Broadcast to the World is the sixth studio album released by Zebrahead. It was the first album released by Zebreahead to feature their current lead singer Matty Lewis. This was also the first album released after the departure of former lead vocalist Justin Mauriello, who was, in this album, replaced with Matty Lewis.
Broadcast to the World - A song about going all out in society and accepting wanting everything right now in life. The title track opens with unique guitar effects. Anyone who knows guitar effects may know how to define the sound. Unlike their last album, Zebrahead have injected some humor into their songs. This isn't too big of a departure considering Playmate of the Year was extremely relaxed and fun lyrically. Ultimately, as already mentioned, this song highlights the greatest aspects of this album - more fills, memorable riffs, catchy payoff chorus, and great vocal delivery from a singer who had to fill the void left by a well established member of the band. 3. Anthem - Anthem begins with Ali rapping, "I got a girlfriend/ Only she don't know it yet/I got a six string best friend/ Who sleeps.
Zebrahead are a sort of rap-rock outfit owing far more to the old school than the new, but that adds the welcome element of solid melodic hooks to the mix. The result is music that you can sing along to, or rap along to, or mosh along to, or yell along to. This band started out in the ska-punk ghetto, and on its fourth album there are a couple of nods to the old days (most notably on the high-stepping "Anthem"), but mostly Zebrahead keep the sound in a heavy rock mode
