Live at Winterland 1978 is a live album by Sex Pistols, first released in its entirety in 2001. The last two songs were released in 1980 by Island Records on their two-disc TROUBLEMAKERS, bookending the compilation. This is the Sex Pistols last ever concert (before reunion in 1996), recorded in San Francisco at the Winterland Ballroom. The Avengers, one of the bands that opened for the Sex Pistols at this show, also released their set from the night on an album of the same name.

Sex Pistols is a box set anthology of the career of the punk band The Sex Pistols with singer Johnny Rotten. It was released on 3 June 2002. The set comprises three themed CDs and an 80-page booklet. The first disc features Never Mind the Bollocks, the band's only studio album, in its entirety, as well as four B-sides and the band's first demo session. The second disc has demos and studio outtakes, from July 1976 to January 1977 and from the Never Mind the Bollocks sessions

Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious were both punched in the face by girl fans as the Sex Pistols performed today deep in the heart of Texas. That was the lede for the English newspaper The Evening News covering the Pistol’s concert at The Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, TX on January 10, 1978. It proved to be one of the strangest, most contentions shows in one of the strangest, most contentious tours in rock history. You can watch it above. By the time of the concert, the Sex Pistols were already notorious in the .

14, 1978, and would be the band's final performance - at least until their 1996 reunion. By then, however, Sid Vicious was long dead. This much-hyped, sold-out swansong was simulcast over KSAN-FM radio. Manager Malcolm McLaren thought the best plan of attack was to avoid major markets like New York City and Los Angeles, and instead hit the deep South. The tour made stops in Atlanta, Memphis, San Antonio, Baton Rouge, Dallas and Tulsa. San Francisco was the only date on the tour that could have provided an audience tuned into the Sex Pistols. Though not a total disaster, the Sex Pistols failed to live up to the buzz that preceded them. They were at death's door when the tour started, and San Francisco was the final nail in the coffin. During the sole encore of the evening, a very loose version of the Stooges classic "No Fun," Rotten laid his feelings out, revamping the lyrics a bit.

In a commercial sense, however, the Sex Pistols will probably destroy no one but themselves, but theirs is a holy or unholy war that isn’t really going to be won or lost by statistics, slick guitar playing or smooth studio work. This band still takes rock & roll personally, as a matter of honor and necessity, and they play with an energy and conviction that is positively transcendent in its madness and fever. It seems to me that instead of exploiting the commercial potential of revolution, the Sex Pistols have chosen to explore its cultural possibilities. That said, no one should be frightened away from this album. and especially God Save the Queen are near-perfect rock & roll songs, classics in the way the Who’s My Generation and the Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction are. And, contrary to popular opinion, the Pistols do have a sense of humor.

Redirected from Raw (Sex Pistols album)). The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975. They were responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians.

This is a sonically revamped recording of the much maligned last sex pistOls concert at Winterland in San Francisco from 1978. It is the complete show. Those fans who already have the bootleg "Gun Control" really have not gotten an accurate portrayal of the performance that night.
