A new album, titled Ur Jordens Djup ("From the Depths of the Earth"), was released March, 2007. This fourth album put more emphasis on epic keyboard riffs with very loud but melodic guitar. Ur jordens djup (English: From the Depths of the Earth) is the fifth full-length Finntroll album. It was released on March 28, 2007. Unlike in Nattfödd, the lyrics for this album were written by the band's original vocalist, Jan "Katla" Jämsen. This and other factors appear to contribute to a darker, more black metal feel.

Although the music on Ur Jordens Djup follows the same style throughout the album quite faithfully, it doesn’t feel dull but a few moments all together. Gryning opens the album honoring the : trolls moving in the dark woods, feasting on man-flesh and preparing for a charge against the humankind. The music grows a bit by bit through the intro before proceeding into an excellent track called Sång. Korpens Saga is an easily memorable song that features extremely fitting, strong folk-elements. Korpens Saga mixes a great deal of epic images of vast wilds and heart-lifting.

Ur jordens djup (English: From the Depths of the Earth) is the fourth full-length Finntroll album. A music video for "Nedgång" was released in April.

I just hope that on their next release they go back to their older, more polka inspired sound. Ur Jorden Djup starts off with an extensive intro, which seems mandatory in most metal albums. It sets the atmosphere for the rest of the album, sounding like something from a fairytale with some of the most bizzare troll sounds and horses trotting thrown in for good reason
