Theme - Lord Peter Wimsey.
Whose Body? is a 1923 mystery novel by Dorothy L. Sayers, in which she introduced the character of Lord Peter Wimsey. Thipps, an architect, finds a dead body wearing nothing but a pair of pince-nez in the bath of his London flat. Lord Peter Wimsey - a nobleman who has recently developed an interest in criminal investigation as a hobby - resolves to investigate the matter privately.
Lord Peter Wimsey is called "Lord" as he is the son of a Duke. He is not a peer and has no right to sit in the House of Lords, and the usage does not pass on to any offspring he may have. As a boy, the young Peter Wimsey was, to the great distress of his father, strongly attached to an old, smelly poacher living at the edge of the family estate. In his youth Lord Peter was very influenced by his maternal uncle Paul Delagardie, who took it upon himself to instruct his nephew in the facts of life: how to conduct various love affairs and treat his lovers.
