Phace (real name Florian Harres, born March 7) is a German music producer, DJ and label owner living in Hamburg, Germany. Influenced by bands and artists such as Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, The Prodigy, Photek, Thomas Bangalter, Miles Davis, Optical and Konflict, he is known for his state of the art, futuristic, and distinct sound-design and songwriting. He records music both with analog and digital equipment in his studio in Hamburg Altona.

It’s been a big year for Neosignal Recordings co-boss Phace. Kicking off the year with his second solo album Shape The Random before launching a one-man global crusade with tours of Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. Now he’s wrapping up 2015 on Critical Music with an absurd collaborative EP that features some of the most exciting names in electronic music. All kindred sound design spirits, across five tracks he’s joined by: Mefjus, Noisia, Current Value, Rockwell and Culprate. Colour us heavy! This is what he has to say.

Phace komt na het uitbrengen van zijn ‘ Shape the random’ album aan het begin van dit jaar met iets nieuws op Critical Music, een EP met alleen maar collabs, genaamd Phace & Friends. Volgens Critical is het de perfecte afsluiting van het meest succesvolle jaar tot nu toe voor het label. Maar met wie heeft Phace deze EP gemaakt dan? Nou neem een Noisia, een Mefjus, een Current Value, een Rockwell en een Culprate, dat belooft dus nogal wat! En wat zegt de Duitse producer zelf over de release?

After finishing my big LP project at the start of the year, I simply wanted to do something different and wanted get into the studio to have fun with people whom I haven’t worked with for a while (like Noisia, Rockwell and Mefjus) or have never worked with before (like Current Value and Culprate). At this point I actually didn’t aim for all our output to be put together for one release.
