Faye-Ellen Silverman has been prolific throughout her career. She has written a wide variety of orchestral and chamber-music works, which have been performed by major ensembles throughout America and in Europe and Asia. A graduate of Barnard College, Harvard University, and Columbia University, she studied composition with, among others, Otto Luening, Vladimir Ussachevsky, Leon Kirchner, and Jack Beeson. Silverman's Passing Fancies (1985), whose patron, Paul Fromm, is remembered in the initials of its title, is a five-movement work played without pause.

Joel Krosnick (born 1941, New Haven, Connecticut) is an American cellist who has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout the world for over thirty-five years. As a member of the Juilliard String Quartet from 1974 to 2016, he performed the great quartet literature throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Joel Krosnick was born in 1941 to a family of enthusiastic amateur musicians-his mother was a pianist, his father a violinist/doctor.
