This album contains some of Paul's best material, eg: I Wish You Love, Tularosa, Hard Cargo and It Was A Very Good Year. So why oh why did East/West Records not push it? Why only 1 single from the album? Ah well its East/West's loss and another label ought to sign Paul up quick. The new style is great and I hear that he's doing some great new stuff, eg: Angel. Also check out Track 2 (Do We Really Want The Same Things) on the I Wish You Love single (absolutely brilliant). After a spell between his last album (Reflections 1994) Paul changed his style completely with this self-titled album. The entire album has a country/rock feel to it & songs like the nice 'Vanish' & 'It was a very good year' reflect this. I Wish You Love' was the single release in 1997 but the beatiful ballard Tularose never made it as a single & should have.
