Wilfred Gerald Edwards (1938 – 15 August 1992), known as Jackie Edwards, was a Jamaican musician and songwriter, whose career took in ska, R&B, soul, rocksteady, reggae, and ballads. Edwards was born in Jamaica in 1938 where he grew up as one of fifteen siblings. Strongly influenced by Nat King Cole, he began performing at the age of 14. He and came to the attention of Chris Blackwell in 1959.
