David Loeb (born May 11, 1939) is an American composer of contemporary classical music. Born in New York City, he has written extensively for early music instruments such as the viol, as well as instruments from China and Japan. He teaches at the Mannes College The New School for Music, and has additionally served as a member of the composition faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music. His notable students include Jennifer Higdon, Jeremy Beck, and Craig Walsh.

David Loeb has performed as a jazz pianist with Arturo Sandoval, Nancy Wilson, Tom Scott, Freddie Hubbard, Anita O’Day, Joe Williams and many others. Loeb was a Los Angeles recording musician for television shows including Family Guy and The Emmy Awards, and movies including Ted, The Birdcage and Pocahontas. He was principal keyboardist with The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and there he accompanied musical artists including Placido Domingo, James Galway, Bette Midler and Jessye Norman. Loeb is a recipient of the distinguished Nevada System of Higher Education Regents' Creative Activity Award. He holds a master of music degree in jazz and contemporary media from the Eastman School of Music and a bachelor of science in music education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
